Application Workshop
Completing your ARC Linkage Grant 2010

In order to assist as many applicants as possible, a comprehensive workshop on completing your application will be run by Mr James Walsh, Strategic Development Manager, Industry.
This workshop will detail what is expected for each section of the application and will go into considerable detail on Track Record Statements, Budget Justifications and how to explain your collaboration. The information is based on in-depth panel feedback and reviews of assessors’ reports. Handouts will give examples from successful applications on how to justify budgets and how to articulate the nature of the collaboration between the UNSW Researcher and Partner Organisations.
This workshop will also concentrate on the differences between articulating an ARC Linkage Grant and an ARC Discovery Grant or NHMRC Project Grant application. All potential Round 2 2010 applicants with a reasonably well developed application to hand are encouraged to attend.

Support for early applicants from the UNSW Research Strategy Office includes:
- Total review and strategic advice on every element of your application
- Liaison with your partner organization to assist them in signing up and leveraging larger and appropriate budgets for you.
- Visits to your Partner to explain the scheme.
- Reviews of your budget and partner commitments.
- Brokerage with previously successful applicants who might be able to share their application with you or mentor your application.
- There is also a stock of glossy brochures aimed at your partner explaining the scheme and how they can invest in your research. These are available in hard copy to take to meetings or soft copy to distribute by email.
