The Deputy Vice‑Chancellor (Research) has executive responsibility for driving the strategic research direction and overall research performance of the University, and in particular, maintaining and advancing the University’s profile in research and research training, as well as technology transfer.

The role of the Division of the Deputy Vice‑Chancellor (Research) is to facilitate research through the provision of support services and marshalling central resources, and to develop and implement policies relating to research, research training and the commercialisation of research undertaken at UNSW.
